Default For you rattle can users...

I don't know if any of you have used this paint, but recently (I am a Tamiya whore) discovered it because of the a.- unavailability of Tamiya Paint, and b.- When I find it, WAY to overpriced for what it is. I started using the Painters Touch x2 series of spray paints from Home Depot. This stuff is VERY FORGIVING, and drys pretty darn quick. Plus it's enamel and not lacquer (I love lacquer). The clear is very good, but will take a couple of coats and some sanding in between. Polishes out really nice. NO, there is nothing I have found that is as easy and forgiving as Tamiya Clear, but like I said, not going to sell my soul for a small spray can. Also, DON'T mix the paint types. I had used some left over Tamiya Blue, didn't like it, sanded it down, and sprayed Painters Touch x2 blue (matches Align Blue) over it, finished my canopy and was ready to clear it. Did so and OMG it cracked and crinkled all over! I am chalking this up to the Tamiya Lacquer vapors leaking through the enamel paint. So, redoing it right now and will post some picts when it is done.
