At this point it is a race between AR7200BX and Robird G31. Whichever gets the governor first goes in my Titan. I want to pick an FBL system and stick with it so if I go Robird I will not be using Beastx again. Also I am in the Market for a new transmitter so I may move to Futaba since the AR7200BX is the only thing left tying me to my DX7s. I barely touch my micros anymore anyway.

Robird G31 already has governor and comes with hobbyking RPM sensor.

Not using it at this time on my Robird G31 equipped helis(2-300x) but will down the road.

It's funny that there was an announcement at ircha but no official announcement. I doubt this is ever going to see the light of day. But I could be wrong

I'm not a horizon fanboy but at least lately the new models were announced and released shortly there after. I'd love to see firmware update to add the feature. I would even be happier with a pc based software for initial setup and fine tuning. I don't think the BX gives the precise adjustments that others have in the price range or G31 and ZYX.

If they don't make new firmware for the AR7200BX it's a very good bet there will be a new Spektrum FBL product complete with governor in the near future because the DX9 promo material has this in it:

"FORWARD PROGRAMMING:
This innovative software feature will equip you for a new generation of Spektrum components that can be programmed directly through the DX9."

I see HH has an ad in the latest issue of RC Heli Pilot magazine (pg. 95) for the new ar7200x update with governor function. Although going to the update website or to spektrumrc.com as the ad instructed revealed no info that I could find via a quick search. So not sure if the update is actually posted on the update site or not.

Gov function on AR7200bx is currently being confirmed by Horizon Hobby. Not for Beastx, only AR7200bx. Recent info is available here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=585841

I spoke to a rep who had just witnessed it flying, and said we should see it by year end. In fact when i first asked him about it he thought it had already been released.

Reading through the thread you posted, it seems like it will be available for glow engines only. Lets hope I am wrong cause I really want to get off the Castle Gov but not pay the high price of a high end esc just to get a good governor.

At last my usb will pay for itself, I bought it for 24$ and have used it only once so far

The ad I saw said it was a firmware update for the current ar7200bx and that an RPM sensor would also be available.
