Default Using regular servo y-splitter for sbus2?

I have a r3008sb receiver which is connected to a gpro via the sbus2 port.

I just purchased the voltage telemetry unit which also needs to be connected to the sbus2 port, so therefore need a splitter.

I can see that futaba's split cable is pretty expensive. However since the plug is a standard servo plug I assume I can just use a regular servo y-split cable.

Should there be any issues with this approach?

The Gpro should not be plugged into the sbus2 port. It should be plugged into 8/SB (SBUS) using the default receiver mode. The telemetry sensor can then be plugged into SBUS2.

See manual for the receiver here: http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/r3008sb-manual.pdf

If you are using the voltage sensor to monitor main pack voltage, you do not need the entire external voltage telemetry sensor.

The R3008SB has a small connector port on the front of it near the antennas, this is for the external voltage cable http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCFVY&P=ML to monitor main pack voltage

Thanks for the feedback dchekas.

I thought the sbus2 port was needed, but good to know this isn't the case. It has been working just fine on the sbus2 port though, but having it freed up for the telemetry is great.

And thanks for the heads up on the extra voltage port on the receiver, had completely overlooked that one. Oh well, the sensor has already been soldered on, so might as well just use that one :-)
