im getting this esc monday and i want to be prepared for wiring it up quickly. what is connector i circled? looks like its going to where the steve wires up to but if it is then whys it so long? thanks guys

That is the BEC and signal wire just like most other ESC's and would plug into a receiver thus the length of the wires. Remove the plug and wires then you can use the pads for the postive, negative and signal for your converter. The plug and associated wires weren't specifically designed for hooking a converter to.

I kind of remember that guys were picking up the power for the converter from the 3-n-1 instead of the ESC but I don't recall the reason why. It's been a long time since I last used a Steve converter because of the BLHeli code.

It actually turned out to be the exact wiring for the steve converter and I was able to plug my converter pcb right into it. Only thing I did was shorten the wires.

Might want to think about soldering everything direct and getting rid of the extra wires and connectors. They only add weight, resistance and the possibility of something coming unplugged.

Sorry but that is my past conversion experience pipping up.
