Default 6s batteries / will these fit?

I'm considering stretching my mini off the bat and have read about guys wiring up 2 three cell packs but I don't really want to mess with that. So here are a few packs I found. Wondering if they will fit? maybe somebody can give me the max battery dimensions? Here is what I've found;

Thanks for any suggestions.

Stay away from Nanopuffers. (Turnigy)

Thor looks nice, but no one has done a proper review and knows how they last...

Well I'm committed now, just ordered my stretch kit, 15t pinion, and 6s motor. So I need to get a Few packs...leaning towards the Thor packs. Guess I'll be the Guinea pig on those unless somebody has a better recommendation.

Sadly, Gens Ace don't make one for us, or i'd be all over that!

Thor seems like a nice pack. Tell me how they go!

I'm a bit leery of the 25C rating....I usually fly with 40C and higher 3s 2200mah packs like most of the 3s 450 guys....think I'm going to look around a bit more before i order.

I've been using these since the spring and have about 15 cycles on 5 pairs of them. Very happy power wise. The packs come down a little warm, but not hot by any means. No puffing yet, but for $12 a pack I really don't care if they do. 2 of these wired as 1 6S pack.

They now offer these, which saves you a little hassle.

I'd really like someone to come out with a 6S 1500-1600 with the right dimensions. I think that would be the ticket for the stretched Mini's.

Well I decided to order a few of these;

and one of these for comparison

Ive only had bad experiences with Nano techs, so i was hesitant to give the regular turnigy's a try but the price per unit was hard to beat at $22

With regards to the thor batteries it seem they are made by Voltz and they (Voltz) do make a similar 40C discharge pack but it is out of stock everywhere. I am wondering if this is their replacement model?

anyways ill report back after i complete the build/maiden and give my impressions of each after a few flights.

Not with their own label they don't, but you can get them here RCHelicanada
Private labelled, I asked him to get this configuration in a few months ago.
I've got a couple on the way to me to try out and compare to the Voltz.

Can you confirm they fit under the canopy at 104mm? They are about 30mm longer than what I've seen everyone else uses.

Even if they don't fit, it's easy to mod the canopy to clear them.

I have 6s 1300 Blue Lipos (they suck BTW) which are quite high, and push the canopy up a bit. I just moved the canopy mounting posts to the front set of holes for the top bearing mount block (drilled out the threads in the block and used a long bolt from the inside). That gave me lots of room, and of course you can ream new holes at that point if you need to.

I have a Fusuno canopy and have never tried the stock canopy, it may have more room under it, but no big deal if it doesn't.

The battery takes the shape of a 3s 2200mah Lipo so it will fit as easily an its even a little smaller.

Gens Ace 6s 1200 mah:
(LxWxH) 104.55 x 33.7 x 23.6

Thunder Power 3s 2250 mah
(LxWxH) 102 x 35 x 26

My packs just came in today. Looking forward to trying them out soon, just waiting for a couple more parts to come in.
They fit under the canopy like a glove.

Yes, those are the ones.
Compared to my new Gens Ace or Pulse Ultra 3s packs for my 450, they seem to be the same cell width and length, just stacked a bit higher.

I'd like to hear how they perform. I'm still pleased with my 1300's, but another 100MaH gets me more flight time, and the extra weight might be nice too.

I finally got an opportunity to test the packs today.
After a couple cycles these things are unbelievable. I had to reset my Gov Store on the YGE to properly control the added headspeed these gave. I started with the Voltz 6s packs and never had anything else to compare to. After using these packs, my Voltz are going to be set aside or just plain dumped, I have no use for them. It could be my 2 Voltz packs were just soft from the beginning, I've never heard any stellar reviews of them.
The new THOR versions might be great, but I haven't tried them.

The key to lipos of course is their performance over time and at this point I have no way of knowing how these things will be after 20, 40, 100 cycles. So take what I say with a grain of salt.
All of my Gens Ace packs have performed really well so far, and the form factor and construction of these packs do appear to be consistent with the Gens and new Pulse Ultra packs I've got recently. I can't verify that these were made by Ace Pow (Gens Ace factory) but that is what I have heard, and so far it seems very plausible.

Jeff at RCHeliCanada told me he has more on order so if you're interested maybe send him an email through his site.
One thing I want to clarify. I am NOT in any way affiliated with Rchelicanada or Jeff. In actual fact, as you can see from my sig, he's a competitor here in Canada to the shop I am helping out. But this is a bit of a niche product not available everywhere and I am happy to recommend it.

Are you at SHAG this weekend?

We were supposed to attend but had to bail out when they changed the dates. We donated a prize to the event.

I stopped in for a bit yes, but didn't even unpack anything. It has been raining the entire weekend all over this part of the province. I guess there was a window of a couple of hours where it was just lightly coming down so a few people got some flight time.

It's too bad, SHAG is always a good event to start the year off with.
