Default Awesome Futaba Experience

In the process of switching from Spektrum to Futaba.

I have a friend layed up in the hospital from a car accident that may not make it through the night and I can't sleep, so I decided to fire up the T8FG I bought last week and hook it to my VBar Protos.

So...first 'heavenly' moment was ripping the two DSM satellites out, placing the 208SB and it's ONE wire to the vbar.... So much excess wiring gone already.

Next, binding was effortless. I sometimes have to try 2-3 times to get a Spektrum bound.

Finally..tx calibration in the vbar. everything but collective was already at 0 with 101 on the throws....straight out of the box. You can see it center better than my worn out DX-7. The T8FG menu system allowed me to sub and reverse everything in seconds with half the annoying beeps of the DX-7.

Highly recommend switching

Man that sucks... So sorry to hear about your friend in the hospital !!! Just last week I was on board with you to purchase an 8fg .. Remember?? I just jumped on to update the last thread we were on and let you guys know I got one and seen this !!! Im glad the 8fg gave you something to do but I wish it was in better conditions ...

My new radio will be here soon I suppose.. I got it from tower hobbies as well... I was gonna do rons so I could get the case and extra rx. but figured tower was 20 something cheaper and I wasnt gonna use the park flier anyhow .. Took advantage of the easy pay !! That deal is cool

Well I hope everything works out for your friend you man, thoughts and prayers sent your way and I hope he gets better soon !!!!!!!

Sorry to hear.
Remember to setup your failsafes, I missed this and assumed it was the same as coming from spektrum. Luckily I did a check and found it wasn't setup the way I thought at all!

Not sure if you know this also, but expo is reverse on Futaba compared to Spektrum. Scared the crap out of me when I thought I had 30% expo on tail.

Right on

I remember getting into the hobby a few years back and mowing through as many Finless Bob videos as I could. He made a point to mention the expo difference wherever it applied and it stuck in my head. Maybe I always knew I would swap to Futaba?

The 8FG also has a graph showing the linear curve on each input, as you dial in - expo I could verify I was correct as the line flattened at dead center.

More importantly remember that Futaba's throttle is almost always backwards.
