Default Ready for flight again

Now my Velo N2 is fit for fight again, and I'm happy!

I can't wait!

Sweet, go fly it. When the little issues aren't keeping you down, the velocity is a champ. I know I love mine.

Well, THAT didn't last long...

My brand new main gear stripped in flight. I wasn't even flying hard. I was practising backwards circuits and flips. I'm still doing it easy on this fragile bird.

After a flip, there was a strange sound. I figured I'd better land. As I approached the landing spot, the sound became worse and worse. I autoed down -- fortunately there was no other damage than the main gear.

The new white CNC gear is supposedly stronger. So it's time to place an order at FastLad... AGAIN! Too bad there are no Norwegian Outrage retailers

Fortunately the day was saved by my more reliable machine... my T-Rex is like a Toyota. Perhaps it's not the sexyest thing, but it just works...and works...and works...

Jeez if it's not one thing it's another Jotto ... sorry to see that happend. Jotto did you mesh your gears with a single strip of paper? I loosen up the motor and clutch/main shaft bearing blocks and slide a strip of paper between the main gear and the drive gear. I then squeeze the blocks toward each other and tighten everything up. I've never had an issue like that but I'm not saying I won't either ... seems like this machine is just full of bugs! I picked up another Trex 600n air frame for a great price and I have a good mind to just transfer my electronics to it and sell off the N2. Another issues with this thing and I give up.

Cheers
Mike

I tried to adjust the meshing according to the manual, but there was no room for adjustment. I would have to expand the holes for the pinion block in order to make adjustments.

Anyway, the meshing seemed fine as it was. I was able to slide a piece of paper through it.

A bad gear is very possible Jotto ... and not surprising at that!

Fast-Lad was sold out, so I had to get the CNC gear from overseas instead. I have a spare black gear that I will use for gentle hovering until I get the new gear.
