Default Cooling holes in canopy?

With summer and higher temperatures just around the corner, has anyone cut cooling hole(s) in their canopy for the motor and ESC? At 85 degrees today, this was the hottest I have flown my 7HV. My ESC was 105 (F) and my Xera 4530 got to 127. Not really hot, but definately hotter than when it was just above freezing a few months ago

I thought of that as well as temperatures are getting higher these days.I'll definitely bring my temp gun today when I go flying and see what it is. If needed be, then a hole on the canopy is a must.

Check mine after flight running at 1950 for 7mins and esc is 70F, motor is 66F so no holes for my canopy. Actually the temp outside is 12deg C.

My ESC and Motor Temps are running warmer in the 90 degree heat we had last weekend, but they are still at acceptable levels. I will probably cut a hole in the bottom of my canopy to draw air in before the 100 degree heat gets hear. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

My ESC is mounted to the side of the helicopter as opposed to up, under the canopy.

I don't anticipate any cooling issues.

Ya a 1400mm diameter fan should keep things cool.

High headspeeds generate more heat, my setup do well without any cooling holes and need no further cooling then the fan on the roof so to speak hehe.

Yep that spinning fan also keeps the pilot cool, once it stops the pilot starts to sweat!

I like the 'fan on the roof' comment! That's funny

At what ESC and motor temp's should we start getting concerned?

I would say about 170-180 would be my upper limit but I prefer a bit cooler.
