Default What to do ?

Have you ever owned a heli you cant seem to fix? I bought a used Maxi Joker2. I loved it when I got it but I have been chasing a tail vibe ( more like a shake) for months. I have had the heli for over a year and I have had it dailed in for maybe 10 flights out of about 40. I do know how to repair helis, been at this six years now and I do AP with dji picloc yada yada but This think is kicking my butt.

I need a Maxi Joker mechanic I refuse to give up hope.

Finless?

Default Need advice

I have a MJ2 I bought used . I have had it for about a year. It has been a love/hate relationship. I seem to always have a tail shake. I did get it smooth for a few days then my rx lost signal and I sat it down ina sand lot with what I thought was minimum damage.

I would relly, really like to use this heli as an AP ship.
but I cant seem to get rid of the tail vibe. I think Im a pretty good heli mechanic but this is driving me nuts

I have replaced
main shaft
tail shaft
tail rotor shaft
tail gear
shaft#747 that drives the tail belt
flybar
feathering shaft ect.
I hate to put this bird on a shelf, but it looks like its heading that way. before I give up does anyone have suggestions?
Im going to fully disassymble the heli. Check all shafts and bearing replace anything that even looks questionable. But Im affraid I staill wont get rid of it

Can someone Help ? In person or via video. I live in san Diego and wil drive to where ever to get help

Other questions
How tight should I run this belt? I know what the manual says but some helis like the belt really tight and in others that makes vibe
Rotor blades - does the MJ2 like them tight or really tight ( 700mm right now, waiting on new 800mm)
tail blades- tight or loose?

So, can someone lend a hand before i self this bird?

Thanks

If you haven't tried different tail blades try x2-3 different makes and sizes - give some 95 Radix a go. Try some different tail grips or even a whole different tail assembly. If you are running VBAR then check your vibe spectrum for clues. It's alsmost certainly in the tail rotor rather than further forward.

Thanks John. Im running a flybarred head so no help with the v-bar. I do notice changes with different torque settings on the tail roto blade tightness. I also thing Im running the belt too tight
