Default Help.. 450 flips too wide of circle

Mabe someone here can help me out, ever since I started learning flips with my 450 pro I noticed whatever I try, different settings or what, I cant get my heli to stay in one place to do flips. I have to take it up really high because it makes such large circles. My pitch is ranging from +11 to -6 and my motor is a 3500kv and im running a 13 tooth pinion all at 100 percent.

What is your cyclic pitch range?

Normally one would use a linear pitch curve for tricks. With out this you will have to move the pitch stick in a nonlinear way. Try setting your negitive pitch to match positive.

Also, do you have 0 deg at mid stick on the collective?

Yes, first thing I would try is to set the negative pitch to -11 with 0 at mid stick, and see how that feels. I usually use +12 to -12. That seems to be pretty common, but some folks use more or less.

If that doesn't help, I would check out the cyclic range, and rates programmed in your TX. I think 9 degrees cyclic is common..... I found that when my 450 flipped very slowly, the flips became very ugly and I fixed it by turning my rates up higher, and increased my head speed via the throttle curve. Now mine flips much more easily, smoothly and stationary. More of a flip, and less of a floop.

Ok I went back through everything, readjusted my neg. Pitch to equal that of the pos. Also bumped up my hed speed a tad. She now flips really good on idle up mode. On standard mode I have set my lowest pitch at -3 mid pitch at +4 it gives me a good soft takeoff and landing. Throttle curve for both is straight 85%.
