As you can see it is layed out very well. I had no trouble building the frame set and using parts from my ESP 500.

I did drill an extra hole in mine to access the carbs screws. I like to check them sometimes
Check out the micro throttle servo. Save a little weight!

I really enjoy how the gas tank comes out with a velcro strap. Very easy to check and service clunk line.

The main gear on this unit is big. I dont think there will be a problem with this. The clutch is also big. I did balance my clutch bell and clutch to try and make the machine as smooth as possible.

I'm using the 3GX because it has a built in governor for the engine. I can also use a sat. receiver which saves me some weight.

This heli uses electric cooling. I was a little sceptical at first about the airflow from these little fans. Well, I have to say they work fine. You can use a regular old 6mm hex starter on this heli.

I'm using a 2s lipo 2500 mah pack and align regulator for flight and fan power. I get 5 flights before I need to recharge. That is still more than 40% left in the flight pack.

Now for the stuff I did not like....

1. The instructions were a little hard to follow for me. I cut one of the plastic pieces in the wrong place and I had to go buy a new one. My fault probably. I like allot of pictures to help me along the way. Some of the pictures in the instructions are not correct. Rotary Concepts USA is aware of the problem and making corrections to the pictures.

2. I had a problem with my clutch shaft. The design of the clutch stack is very clever. They use an extension shaft to screw onto the crankshaft of the OS 37. This makes and area for the clutch bell bearing and clutch to attach to. I must have overtightened mine onto the crankshaft because the bottom section became distorted and the clutch would not spin free while disengaged. I also noticed some run out on the end of the shaft where the clutch would attached. This would cause some vibration. I contacted Rotary Concepts USA and they gave me a brand new shaft free of charge! Great people to deal with!

3. This is not really a problem, but more something that should be added to the instructions I think. I ran into an issue with the run out on the clutch shaft. I solved the problem by using a dial indicator to dial the shaft and using a small hammer to tap it straight while mounted to the motor. This was the only way I could get the .001 run out I like.

The number one question....

How does it compare to the electric power wise?

This machine has enough power to do 3-D. It can tic toc, rainbow, loops, rolls etc. I have plenty of fun flying it and would not hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone interested in this sort of conversion.

Over all this is an exceptional kit! I would and probably will build another conversion soon.

TURBORACER- How is the main gear mesh on yours? Mine seems to have a bit of play.

You're right I'm thinking of another OEM kit. Do you have a link where one can buy it?

I wondered how long it would take for someone to catch that?
In my rush to take a picture before it got dark, i mounted one blade backwards!

They don't fly very well that way. I did that on my 3rd FBL 450 flight when I installed different blades. Kinda noisy and shaky. It took a couple minutes of looking at the heli for me to notice one was upside down

Can you tell me how many teeth the pinion has? I'm wondering what the gearing would be on a 550 with mod1 main gear

Maidened my 500N Conversion 2 days ago and i`m in love

The conversion built very quick and is very well thought through. I used also teh DFC head, new canopy (fits much better than original ESP), Spektrum AR7200BX flybarless and Gryphon tiny booster, Gryphon 2 chanel BEC.

it flies AWESOME ! great power too!
