Default 3GX and Sats questions

Ok here is what align has in the instructions:
Quote:
To avoid damage to servos, only digital servos should be used for swashplate.
3.3GX has built in speed governor function which can be utilized by purchasing the optional speed sensor, and a 7ch or more transmitter. Governor setting is done through channel 7 on the receiver. Channel5/GEAR controls RPM of speed governor, channel7/AUX2 controls rudder gyro gain. For radios with less than 6 channels, please use standard receiver connectivity method.
Ok now for the questions......
1. Just how many channel 7s do these things require?

and

2. So I'm safe to assume I can set up the 2 sat method with a DX6i since it is not less then 6 channels?

3. what would make it any diffrent then using a 7 channel rx with a sat its capable of 7 but only use 6 any how?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are using an external spektrum RX then the GOV is channel 7 and the Gyro gain is channel 5
If you are using the 3GX with remote satellite, then the Gov is channel 5 (gear) and the gyro gain is channel 7 (AUX).

If your radio is 6 channels or less then you will need to use an external RX. The DX6 will work but you will not have the gear function (gyro gain) because it will be channel 7.

Not sure why they worded it “less than 6 channels”. Should say “6 channels or less”
