Default Hyperion 720i Super Duo 3 - Settings

Hi Guys

I hope Im not asking a repeat question. I have searched the forum prior to posting this.

I just purchased an Hyperion 720i Super Duo 3 as well as a 60amp 1200 watt Power Supply.

I am using Pulse 22.2v 3300mah (35C) Lipos. According to the Pulse website, these lipos can easily handle a 5C charge. So I have set the max c rating to 5C on the charger under the user settings.

The only thing Im confused with is the power (input) setting. It is set at 40amps by default, however. It will go up to 55amps.

Will I gain anything by setting it to 55? After all, I am using a 60amp power supply.

Not sure what to do to really optimize this charger. At 5C, the charger is maxed out at 16.5 amps per side.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Default 720I

The Power Supply is a RAGE - EFuel, 1200w, 60 Amp Power Supply

On the settings for the power input current 'on the charger' , It shows 40amps by default, however. The Power Supply can actually handle the max of 55 on the 720i.

Not sure what to do!

It may be a 60 amp, 24v supply. But it cannot do both at the same time. 60 amps or 24v but not both because total wattage cannot exceed 1200. 60a X 24v = 1440 watts.

On 24v the max current will be 50 amps. Usually the charger setting for the max input current is so you don't damage the supply. In your case, a setting of 50 amps will allow the charger to pull 100% of the available power of the supply. Bumping the input current will help you reach the maximum output of the charger and is likely the reason its not getting to 20 amps per side.
