Default Hitec Flash 7 with flight simulator

Has anyone tried using the Hitec Flash 7 with any kind of flight simulator?

I have tried hooking it up to my Phoenix simulator, using Phoenix's USB interface, but it is totally dead.

The 1/8" plug of the USB interface fits right into the training plug of the Hitec Flash 7 but the simulator says "transmitter not connected" whatever I do.

When I power on the transmitter no "t-pupil" alternative appears like it does on the Aurora.

No matter if I select "ready to transmit" yes or no, nothing happens.

I've also tried enabling training mode in the menus of the transmitter, assigning a switch to enable training mode, all that sort of stuff in all combinations, but still totally dead.

I might send an email to Phoenix and ask them if the cable they use is a crossover or a non crossover style. That's really the only other thing I can think of. Our system uses a crossover style cable for the trainer ports (as opposed to non-crossover that all auxiliary cables are) so that may have something to do with it.

Thanks for the response.

I needed to make an adapter. A mono plug in the transmitter, a stereo socket in the flight simulator. The tips connected, the sleeve of the mono plug connected to the ring of the stereo socket.

Now it works.
