Default Included 5.1 Tail Servo Stepdown

Just wondering if this is needed? The guys at my field don't use them on their 600 ESP's, but if it was in the kit then it must be of some importance. BTW, I'm using all stock electronics included in the kit. Thanks in advance.

You only need it if you're running a 4.8V gyro and/or tail servo.

You dont need it, the included DS620 is rated for 6V. You would only need it if you wanted to use a tail servo rated for 5V like the JR DS8900G.

Its a ds650 not 620 and it will have a longer life if run @ 5V - your choice. I run mine through a Gryphon DUO voltage regulator.

Doesn't the external align BEC (included) run all the servos at 5V? Forgive my ignorance as all the heli's I've owned have not had an external BEC

5.8V, the step down is a standard .7V reduction from a diode = 5.1V
