700 comp whining
Under load (when I'm on pitch) I get a whine noise? Could this b the one way being dry? Thanks

Can you video? I had a grrrr whining sound once, also under extreme loads, then the motor belt stripped.. I needed it quite a bit tighter than I thought.

I greased one way. It was pretty dry. I pulled shaft out and it was dry as a bone and the inside of pulley did as well. Nothing looked damaged. Hope that does it

It still does it but it only did it minorly like 4 times that flight. Hoping grease just has to work its way in

Your OWB should be completely engaged under load. It should not make any noise unless it's slipping. Adding grease should not help if it is slipping. You would have been able to tell if it's slipping easily when you disassembled it to lube (discolored, damaged, etc..). Lots of threads on the subject of OWB lube. ATF is what most folks use. I use full synthetic Mobil1 5-30 motor oil and it's worked flawlessly over many thousands of flights. Grease is not recommended and depending on the consistency can prevent your OWB from completely engaging. Less is better in this case.
Like Slyster, I've stripped my motor belt too and it makes some interesting noises when slipping. First, check the alignment of your motor belt on the main pulley. Rotate the main rotor 360 degrees clockwise by turning the motor with your hand. Make sure it doesn't ride up/down off the pulley at all. Then pull your motor belt and inspect. It will be obvious if it's slipping. Messy How is your tail belt tension? Indicator flush with side of frame?

700 comp whining
I have always kept tail belt about 3mm outside frame. Motor belt is right on bottom of pulley. I will move it up. On spool down it makes noise even after motor has stopped and when I spin by hand. The one way has to be getting some work because the secondary shaft spins when the head moves even if the motor doesn't move. I can feel clicking if I put my hand on pulley. Gonna change that and c what happens. I've always used tri flow synthetic on one way. I shouldn't? The manual also states to use tri flow on it. Shaft and inside of one way was kind of brown. Belt looks fine plus the main and tail were replaced about 20 flights ago.

It's very tight. Belt is in good shape too. I ordered new pulley. Hoping that does. Flies and spins fine which is weird

Your belts sound good.
Quote:
Discolored and worn doesn't sound good. When you applied the TriFlow grease, did you use a really thin coat on the shaft only(OK), or put some into the OWB directly? What lube , if any, to use on your OWB is one of those topics that's been beat to death. What works for you is dependent on what you fly, how hard you push it, temps that you fly in, etc.. Here is a fairly recent discussion on this. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=690806

I fly in around 80 in summer 30 in winter and fly at 2100 pretty hard. I put it in one way. Bunch comes out on top of shaft. Is that ok?

I used to use Mobil 1, then tranny fluid for years, just a super light coating that lubes the contact surfaces in there. I feel a good synthetic tranny fluid worked better between these? Until I started using a product called Diamond lube, which consists of super tiny perfectly round spherical diamond bearings that keep the surfaces from actually contacting each other. I haven't replaced or had any issues from my one ways since.

I got a new one way which didn't do a damn thing. Argg $40 wasted. U guys think I should keep new one in since other is original and shows some brown coloring in oil and stuff? Gonna replace secondary shaft bearings. Debating on main main shafts. Just did all about 250 flights ago. I don't think mains really need it. Bottom pulley seems to wobble a bit. Maybe that shaft is bent. There is a small groove on it. Could that b it maybe? Thanks
