It seems that the carbon main shaft even if not split can get worn and cause vibrations. I have also had the head screw loose in the shaft and caused bad vibrations.

I am starting to fly a 250 pro dfc so I have not fixed my 120sr, in a couple weeks. I have a vibration again. When I do fix I plan on a new main shaft, and links. The swash is pretty new and looks true.

I am very close to fixing up and selling. I have a microheli tail holder and main frame that I have not even put on the heli yet. It just seems with this heli that even if there is not a crash, after 15 or so flights things start going south.

I think this heli is fun to fly when it is working right, but I have noticed that with even a small vibration if not attended to immediately then things get bad pretty quick.

I ordered my tail boom set from https://tmkarc1hobby.com/ these guys ship quick and have great customer service. I honestly did not notice a huge difference with the tail boom set. Maybe I have a lemon 120.

The only thing I have replaced on the heli is the main frame. I have thought about doing a complete rebuild with the micorheli main frame but I have been devoting all my heli time to the sim and my 250.
That is meant to say I have not replaced the main frame.........

Been lurking here a while, the knowledge on the 120 SR I have gotten from you guys has been awesome BUT!!!! at the same time thanks for making me spend all my money because I have ordered the Rakon every thing + package. My 120 is a blast but by copying all your mods I'm hopping it will be even better. First question I have is does anyone have a DX 9 program they are willing to share for the 120. Next question, I have searched online to no avail where you guys buy any of the carbon canopys from, could someone point me to a vender please.
Thanks
LeeU

Just ordered and installed one of the skid kits. Noticeable difference in stability.

Default Bling Blade 120SR (Just stock stuff, Nothing crafty)

Due to a series of incidents that killed this little chopper I ended up needing to rebuild it. I've been having electrical demons lately.

Anyway, I decided to throw money at the 120SR and get it to look similar to it's big brother TRex5. Thanks to Interwebs, Reviews here, and of course Rakon, MH, and eBays I have come to this. I didn't want to bomb the thread with images so follow the link and it should get you there.

Freshly rebuilt, literally. Here trying to figure out how to level the damn Swash. I cant seem to SubT or Live trim out a consistent rear left drift.

Default My first post... Battery holder hacksaw mod

This is my first post on helifreak. I got tired of the stock battery holder breaking and i wanted to use a larger battery on my Sr 120, so i built one out of an old hacksaw blade.

I cut a piece of hacksaw blade 6 inches long. I drilled a hole to match the size of the original holder. Then i took a cresent wrench and used it to put the bends in the blade. Measured my battery an cut off the excess. Then applied velcro. The rubber band is optional, but it really locks it in place.

Default Canopy change

I used a canopy off a blade 180. Had to trim the back off and redrill holes for the back set of grommets. It seems much more durable. The skids are homemade now too from 12 gauge copper wire soldered and dipped in plasti-dip.
