Carbon vs plastic
Hey everyone, I keep breaking the wood blades and I need something a little more durable. Should I get carbon fiber or plastic blades? Are the carbon fiber blades worth the extra money?

If you're still crashing often I wouldn't recommend them, they may take a hit or two but mine only took one to break enough to where I didn't trust them. Cheap woodies or plastic blades are a better option, though plastic blades will put the forces elsewhere.

every NEW SR pilot needs a set of these. they hover great, and are cheap and are very durable. they have orange ones too. the white ones are new.

Not carbon, if you're crashing a lot, unless money is like tap water. $$$$$$$$$$$

I'm waiting on these to come in to test - at $2/pair I felt that I had nothing to lose, especially if they work out. Shipping time is long but if they work I'll get 20 or 30 more.

They came in yesterday. They're plastic with a looks-like-carbon-fiber wrapper. One concern I have is they say max RPM 2400. I think woodies are 2600. These feel lighter than woodies but I have none left to directly compare to. I spun them up and they are balanced and tracked perfectly. When it stops raining, I'll give them a whirl, although I'm a noob and that simply means hovering and practicing.
They did take 3 weeks to arrive. Maybe the ESky ones above are a better *and* faster choice. Bill |

I know I'm a little late to chime in in this but I have been using the 235mm plastic blades from value RC on eBay. Not 100% sure but I think they're Edge brand. They take a beating! One tail boom, feather shaft, and main gear later they still track and balance. Just a few grass stains... I like the brass bushing in the blade root too.
