Default What's the biggest motor that is relatively safe

I just picked up a Scorpion Commander 59v Opto at IRCHA for my X7. I am looking for a beastly motor to pair with it. I currently have a 4035 I am looking to replace.

I have had my eyes on the Xnova 4530 and 4535, as well as some KDE options. The peak amp draw on these is a hair over 200A@2s, while the ESC specs state 200A@1s is the max. Peak wattage ranges from 10000 to 13000.

This is a BIG esc. I would think it would be able to handle a big motor, but ... I'm not sure how an ESC like this would handle a 4535.

I have the scorpion 160 opto and it's paired with a 4525 520kv motor. It's got all the power I could ever ask for.

Even on the hottest days, the esc just come down warm. Granted I don't push the machine really hard.

IMO, 4535 is over the top and is just adding weight and $$ that will not be used or needed on a 700. 4530 is about the largest motor I would put on any 700(again, JMO). Also, if your set on Xnova, they offer a XTS 4530-525kv with a special X7 motor shaft already factory installed. Makes things easy.. That motor gets my vote for ultimate motor in a X7.

For a little less $ you can get the (non XTS) normal Xnova 4530-500kv with the X7 shaft installed as well. Also a great motor, not a XTS, but still an amazing motor.

Just my 2 cents worth..

Check the height of the KDE motor, should you go this route.

Thanks. I just picked up the XTS from you, along with some other stuff...

You make it easy to get parts for my X5 and X7. Too easy...
