Not sure but it's only rated for up to 8S anyway.

As of today I see the 550XF-1200 listed as "in stock!"

Should ship soon!!!

Guys, I have been posting just about everywhere about these motors. To say they totally transformed my fleet is a vast understatement. To me even with the old Kde 495 and Scorp ultimate, my Gob 700s were getting kind of boring. I was actually considering letting a few of them go. Not now. The very first flight out with my Gob 700 blew me away, and I needed a bandaid to repair the crack in my lips as my smile was that big! And even my Gob 800 on 12s was an entirely different heli. Now it is on 14s! As is my Triabolo.

Also, (this went as expected), when I did some sport flying. I got a longer flight time than when using the older 495. And the motor came down much cooler. Win win!

I plugged in 60C, 12S, 90%efficiency, 175-19 for gearing, enable governor and Kosmik Mode 4.

MrMel HS Calc - 505kv - 85% throttle - 2293 headspeed
MrMel HS Calc - 469kv - 85% throttle - 2129 headspeed

Actuals from log: 85% throttle = 2127 headspeed

Plugging in 469 kv into the MrMel calc for this 505kv motor yields results nearly identical to actuals from logs. Should be a good starting point.
I'm quoting myself

I maidened my 7HV with the G3 700XF-505 (14T pinion) and Kosmik 200 today at last. Also new on this flight were my first JLog plugged into the Kosmik, Jeti R3 and Rail 716 / 106 blades.

My actual headspeeds were higher than I projected above. If I use 487 as my motor KV in MrMel's HS calc, it yields spot-on headspeeds for me.
My actual 80% HS was 2113 and my 65% was 1720.

No shutdowns using auto-timing! Way to go Patrick!!!

Performance was outstanding, but I think I can get more with a little tuning on the Kosmik. I started today with RiComp at 008 and P-Gain at 08.

I wasn't really hard on it yet, but managed to exceed 300 amps on the motor. Flight time was very un-expected using Ah telemetry from Kosmik-JLog-Jeti. My Jeti tx told me when I exceeded 3750mah consumed in the flight (25% remaining) and I landed.

This motor is very efficient with the Kosmik using auto-timing. 6 minutes in the air on this heli with me flying like I did was not possible with my trusty Xera 4530. Wow. My timer has been set to 3:30 on this heli for the last year and I land sooner if I think I was working it as hard as I could. The new setup is running the larger 716's compared to 696's before and the same +-13 pitch.

Home run Patrick

One more thing.

The max motor temp I saw today was 132F. Kosmik was running cooler than with either my 700XF-495 or Xera 4530. Max temp recorded today was 124F with no cooling fins or fan on it.

Wow, 300A is an impressive pull if you weren't pushing it. I think with tuning you could trade a bit more HS bounce for less strain on your setup (esp LiPos, that's a 60C current.) It's likely the Kosmik 200 is just more willing to go there than my 160; the most I've been able to do was about 275A and it came down with a peak current limit reached error (and several overcurrent warnings.)

I wasn't babying it either
Was just holding back a little. No full pitch hurricanes today.

I've seen ImotPeak over 460 amps on my Goblin 770 with Kosmik 160 and G2 700XF-495 with no shutdown. Imot was only 270 at that same point in time though and it was on my 14S revo packs. My only shutdowns with that combo were with auto timing set. Not a single problem after setting timing to 10 on it.

What was your timing set to when you logged the over amp errors?

Tuning... I was thinking of going the other way. I'll try upping p-gain to 10 next. Then experiment with the Ri-Comp a little. We will see how long the Thunder Powers last. Next packs I get for this will be 14S revo's most likely though. That will help a bit.

That was self-evident.

I didn't know they came in another flavor?

I've only ever run auto timing. I've also learned to ignore ImotPeak - it's an estimated value and I don't believe it. Even with the warnings I've never had a shut down. I'm not doing speed runs, these are isolated moments during a hard 3D flight, usually where I've gone deep into collective and cyclic to recover from a mistake.

14S would help a lot with reducing currents. My setup would support it but I want to be able to share packs with my 550 which isn't 7S capable.

Another awesome day flying my 7HV with the new v3 700XF-505!

Still no shutdowns with auto timing and the power is boundless. Flight times are still much better than anticipated and temps are up to 142 max with air temp at 88F. Max amps logged in flight (Imot) was 319amps today.

Totally forgot about playing with the Kosmik P-gain today since it was flying so well.

Chris, are you getting longer flight times as well?

I am flying the same timer, but coming down with a little more left in the batteries, so my assumption is that I could get a few more seconds...

Effective kV of my 700XF-505 is '497'

Very happy about that!

Running auto timing and 008 for RiComp, PGain of 8 as well.

First flights with the new motor on the Diabolo today. Packs are charged for more action tomorrow morning. Today I ran the NHP 750's at 1840 @ 73% throttle. I have another pinion on order so I can get roughly the same HS, but closer to 80%'ish.

In the mean time, I Bolted my Rail 716's back on and will crank it out back towards 2000 which is pretty quick for this Heli.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning!!

Looking good Josh!

I'm really happy with auto timing working for us now and the KV rating being up there as well. I wish I was flying tomorrow morning!

I spent some time tuning my Kosmik 200 for the new G3-505 on my 7HV and got even better performance out of it.

Ri-Comp 009
P-Gain 09

I'm loving the 716's on my 7HV too. Running a hair over 2100 now. Will go for 2200 when I get the 14S sticks.

10/4, Jay... I'll check out those numbers (9/9) and see how she likes it.
