Default tail setup...

I am running the 9257 on mine and used the star shaped horn...I am running the 2nd hole out and it seems to be the perfect setup for me...

usually tail servos run best at 13-15mm out frm center...I believe 2 holes out is 13mm...

9257 and 401 here. I use the 6 point star wheel, 2nd hole out. I measure it as about 11 mm or so. It puts me right in the sweet spot of the 401 range of travel.

Delay at zero. Set limit so that the slider just doesn't bind at full throw in either direction. After I did my best to center the slider, and adjust the rod to get the servo at 90 degrees- further adjustments were made by sliding the servo fore/aft to max throw in both directions.

Then set gain. On my DX6i I had to use gear endpoints rather than gyro sense menus - worked better.

+1

JAG1, when you do this, you should end up with your limit pot on the 401 somewhere between 85 and 100.

I have my gain set around 40% true gain, (Futaba 7C) which would be around 57 on the gear channel end points on a Spektrum if I'm doing my math right. Let's see, on the Spekrum gyro menu, that would be around 78. You might want to try it and if you notice any twitching of the tail, turn it down. I think I've got mine set higher than it needs to be, but it flies well and holds well, I'm prolly just wearing out my tail servo.

Hope this helps.

You need to get to 13 mm or close and get the futaba at it's sweet spot..

I use the 3 hole on the 4 leg star.. limit is sitting at 80.. This is were the 401 like to be at.. Also I found the long ball link works great for proper alignment.
