A lot simpler, just plug in and go, no switch. WN=Southwest?

BL 750 H Burnt out
I was setting my end points when this rudder servo started smoking. The kit came with a step-down regulator, but I thought this was a HV servo so I didn't use it. I'm sick about this. What could I have done wrong?

Yes, any open channels will do.

It is a full HV servo. Maybe you had binding?

I bought the same hv brushless rudder servo and it burned up on setup as well. I am not happy at all!! Replaced with a BLS 251....happy now.

Exactly....I was only fitting the servo wheel for perfect 90 degrees and smelled something "hot" and it was that dam servo!

I'm about to buy a 700 dfc and was going to go HV to avoid additional failure points (BEC, extra solder connections, etc).
The inclusion of a step down regulator on an HV setup makes no sense to me. Clearly, from the heat and failures people are seeing, the Align HV tail servo needs it ... But why?

Let me also be clear in saying there was only 6 volts going to the servo!!!!!

This is the response I just got from Align
I think you may wrongly set the standard/narrow band. Could cause a servo to burn out ?If so they need to post a warning. |

So, what are you guys saying, that the tail servo is not HV? There are two kits available. One is HV and the other one is not. Maybe the kit you got wasn't HV?

It could be an isolated incident, servos can last for ever or they malfunction day one!

I am currently building a 700E DFC. There is "no" step-down voltage regluator in the kit. You don't need it.
