Default Trainer port working? SD-10G

Is there a way for me to check if the trainer port on the back of my SD-10G is working? I have tried to setup the SD-10G with Phoenix flight sim but I can not calibrate the radio. I know the sim "sees" the radio because when I quite the sim it reminds me to turn off the radio. However when trying to setup the radio in the sim the calibration bars do not move when I move the sticks. I have all the right settings in the radio and purchased the adapter cord for the dongle from Hobby People so that should be right.
P.S. The sim works just fine with my RDS8000.

Make sure your modulation is set to PPM8. It's in the SYSTEM > MODULATION menu.

If that doesn't do the trick, verify that your adapter cable is wired correctly. (Use a multimeter in the continuity test mode.)

If it still isn't working, you could try starting over from scratch:

Farrell thanks again. I have used a multimeter and it does show continuity on the correct terminals in the diagram that you show. I have not started over from scratch yet, not sure if deleting the files talked about on the you tube video would take me all the way back to my original version (2.5 I think). Just don't have the time to mess with it right now. Was wondering if I could use my multimeter to check voltage or signal at the training port on the radio.
I just sent an email to the service dept at Airtronics to see what they say.
P.S. modulation is set correctly.
Thanks again for your help!

A multimeter won't check signal at the trainer port. You will need a scope.

Thanks Terry!
Farrell also confirmed this in an email. I am out of town for work until Monday. When I get back home I will redo my sim to ser if I can get it working.

I talked to my cousin who is an electronic tech, he does have a scope and said that he would help me test. I used a multimeter and checked continuity from the main board through the trainer port on the radio and it all checked out. I am starting to believe that it is the Phoenix sim that is at fault. I'll keep everyone up to date as to my findings. It's just weird that the sim works great with my RDS8000 using the same dongle (different adapter) but will not work with the SD-10G.
