You're all wrong. Mattel was the best. After all, they made the Vertibird.

Spot on!!

Most of the brand kits on the market nowadays are of good quality, you will most likely be happy with whichever brand you choose.
However, when building and flying a "higher end" heli (aswell as many of the new generation birds from established manufacturers, I'm sure), it will be evident what a quality helicopter really is... :

Parts finish, precision of machining, good QC., clever design, easy maintenance, longevity, etc...

Trouble is you don't know what you're missing out on 'til you see for yourself...

Double Horse is the best mix of feature per cost with great performance.

Double Horse should have been named Horse Shoe. It goes up and comes right back down over and over until the packs dead just like a horse shoe. My buddy has a 4channel 9116 and that's exactly what it does. It lifts off and flies 20 or 30 seconds and cuts off.

I loved my Mattel Vertibird! But Today, I say the best out there is

1) Mikado Logo
2) Thunder Tiger
3) MSH
4) Align
5) Blade

lol , unreal.....there is no best , there is no worst , they all have their issues /high and low, and all (if a good name brand ) perform great, if you agree with the heli and get along with it.

really its down to what do you want to look at in the air. and your flying style , what you expect out of it.
cant judge a product by whos flying it , cause there are pilots out there that will make airhogs look like the best heli.

buy what you can afford to fix.

btw , compass rocks! all your lists are wrong! haha
, really though, lots of great machines out there.
noone says shape , henselliet, compass, sab, all i been seeing are lists of advertised highly base brands.......look outside the average box everyone! so many more.amused.

and really? how good the parts look on teh ground? thats not performance in my eyes , i care less about a super pricey shine to my manufactured parts......i can shine a piece of crap metal to look as good as high quality metal , ..does taht make the heli better in the air flying? hell no! look into WHAT metal/aluminum grade is used for each particular manufacturer , thats more important then the finish on teh surface , looks dont create better performance, or stenght.....its jsut an expense you PAY FOR when you buy so said brand.you pay for a spit shine ona surface....hope that grade of metal is good! or youll be tossing grips at 2500 HS on 700.

It looks like the Whiplash Nitro 90 is an extremely well built machine. Designed by Bobby Watts and Chris Lund. I may go this route instead of the Titan X50 after seeing this guys build thread on it.
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=378271

The sides of the main frame come up just a little higher to protect expensive electronics. Double servo linkages have been eliminated, servo placement is one link away from the swash except the elevator servo, It appears to have a short mechanical lever mounted into the frame to get the link right under the back of the swash.

What was he thinking...

No, all three servos on the Whiplash are direct to swash There's no bell cranks of any kind for the cyclic servos.

How? Its not on the market yet. I am a fan of Charley's work, but it hasent even had a chance to be revewed by the Joe shmoe. I really hope it is a sucess, but youtube vids of testing just dont do it for me.

Thats all fine and good, but I still stand behind the fact it hasent been released. None of us regular people have given it a go. it cant be classified as a best manufacturer if they havent actually manufactured anything yet.

And thats all fine and good with me John, and I still stand behind the fact that I'm a fan
I just made a statement that Im a fan.. thats all.. I was not trying to imply that Alees is the best manufacturer. But if the production kits are anywhere near the quality of the test model, then I think people will be quite impressed..
