I soldered new connectors (from the computer fan and old MB) to the USB stick and ESC. You can use the ones that you have on hand.

This is pinouts of USB stick:

This is pinouts of ESC for programming:

You need to solder connectors to the corresponding pins (by names, not colors!! ) with a small length of wire:
C2D to C2D
C2CK to C2CK
GND to GND

You need to solder the power from 2in1 ESC to the BL ESC. You also need to solder the BL motor to ESC.
For the correct operation of the tail is necessary that the main motor is connected (2in1 ESC tracks the speed and controls the operation of the tail). So I removed the head, main shaft and gear.
To check the operation of the BL ESC and overall system after flashing, you need solder PWM signal, picked from stock 2in1 ESC (pin 4 of F7413Z) to standart (not C2D !) white control wire of ESC (simply solder it directly to esc).
(See post #287)
After this, you ready to flash.

First, connect USB stick to PC, than connect stick to ESC. And then, plug in main battery. This is only correct sequence.
Dont forget to turn on transmitter before power up heli.

Thank you so much! I do admire people like you that have those electronic abilities, makes me wish I'd paid more attention with things like that in school. I was always a wrench turner type guy, paying more attention to where what parts go where and how of the mechanical side of it....
But thanks to you I learned a little something new!

That's way too confusing for me.

It's becoming a bit clearer for me, but yeah I am still not sure of all that is taking place exactly. Like ok so is it the 10a ESC being flashed?
The USB thingy, is that plugged into the 10a ESC ? (sorry forgot the name of it) where do you get the plug? Or is that already attached to the 10a ESC?
So what your doing after flashing it is soldering leads to connect to the 2 in 1 ESC, to the 10a ESC?

Yes

Yes, for flashing, read and write settings only

-where do you get the plug?
Soldering it, see post #301
Connectors - any small size connectors that you can find. I used connectors from computer fan and corresponding motherboard`s connector.

-Or is that already attached to the 10a ESC?
No

After flashing disconnect USB Stick. Check clockwize rotation of tail prop. Put training kit on heli. Make test fly .
10A ESC already has to be connected (soldered) to 2in1 ESC/mixer with:
1) +/- power wires
2) signal wire (this is standart signal wire with white color), I named contact pad "to 2-1 esc" on pictures. It connected to 4th pin of F7413Z chip, see pictures)
In other words, all connections (solderings) make at the same time.

I have divided stages "FLASHING" and "WORKING" for a better understanding:

Flashing:

Lol well now ya can't get much clearer than that?
Now I gotcha! :-) hey man thanks! Think I'll start ordering the parts!
Thanks for being so patient, and taking the time to help me understand this VERY clearly! :-))).

Definitely more clear now. It's just that this is something that I am not very familiar with so it takes a lot more thinking and double checking on my part. My problem is that in my head everything has to be logical and make sense and since I'm not familiar with this process it seems confusing. If I read the posts a couple of times it will start to make sense. I understand how it all works, its just the soldering what connecters to where is what I have a problem with. But after Sevych's last post everything is much more clear to me. Thanks for being patient and explaining things in a way that we can understand.

Default 1230 motor source

Where can I find 1230 brushless mirrors for reasonable prices?

Unless you just enjoy tinkering, your better off just getting a 230S It's an SR revamped, FBL, and super stable...although I still fly once in a while my stock SR, it is what it is. As far as your motor, can't help ya there. Sorry

I like to tinker, the idea of sticking a brushless motor on it is interesting.

I've got 2 SRs that are totally stock, except for some cf blades and one SR Huey.

Part of the collection of 16 heli now... I have more fun fixing than flying right now, because I'm better at it.

Oh perfectly understood, myself and a few others have that tinkering deal going on, I was even seriously considering doing this very mod to an SR!
I have already done the belt conversion to one, and do enjoy getting my stock one in the air from time to time also! I saw the 230s though, and got one. It's essentially a FBL SR with the brushless motor, same main gear shaft diameter, tail boom size frame is slightly different, skids same, and main motor. Anyway, I kinda lost interest messing around with it.
Looks like these guys in the previous post kinda got it figured for the BL conversion though. Good luck with your conversion, I'd be interested in the out come with it! Might hit my tinker string, and have to revisit that project! Lord knows I got enough SR parts to do another one lol!

I was originally considering the belt conversion stuff but it looks like I missed the boat with one. If I could collect the parts for the belt stuff at a reasonable price I would try it. That's motivation behind the brushless tail, the parts are very cheap. Found a source for motors Hyperion hp-y12l-5300, the shaft might be too short based on what I am reading but I'm thinking I'll still try. They have the motors listed a $3.50 a piece...

I only started playing with this stuff a little over a year ago, but had passion for it when I was a kid.

I've already collected 5 - 450s and 11 Blade/E-flite birds... Some might say addiction...

I love to tinker with them, fixing is half the fun...

Oh you can get all the parts for the belt conversion, but yes it's expensive!
It does turn that SR into a very nice flying heli though!
Oh I understand the tinkering, I do get the fun you speak of tinkering, but I like to fly them also. A hard balance to juggle!
My latest project:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1...VJnY05CV1Z5aFU

It's now on hold due to funding, I'm going to use the AR7200BX off of my 500 Trex, and get a Spirit Pro for the 500. But I have to wait till I can afford to order the Spirit, then take the BeastX off the 500 for the Dominator. I just can't bear to take it off the 500 while it's perfectly RTF right now to put it on the Dominator...:-( lol
