Default Worth getting the 430XL motor?

I have the 430X, would it be worth getting the 430XL for $50 to get more headspeed? I assume I could just put the new motor on and use my existing ESC, 35X?

The XL will give you better power. But....for $50 you can get a Scorpion -8. The -8 is a little better than the XL at the same price.

Good afternoon Srhadden, might I suggest a CSRC Motor. I just got back from flying mine & it's definitely got a lot of power. My friends have the Scorpion 2221-8 V2 & the CSRC Motor seems to have more torque. Just my opinion. Whether or not you get a Scorpion 2221-8 V2 or the Csrc Motor, they're both better then the 430XL & they approximately $2 cheaper then the Align.

Regards,

+1 on the Scorpion HK2221-8. It's slightly more powerful than the 430XL, with better efficiency and lower temps.

Can I use my ESC with it? Or do I need one that supports 45amp?

Yes, the 35X is more than sufficient.

Hi! How's the power consumption of a Scorpion -8 compared to the 430XL? Thanks!

Interesting, so this scorpion motor has almost the same KV as my 430X, but is more powerful? Guess I'll have to try it and see!

Thanks for the help

Ohhh yes.....lots more power than the X. KV is not the only factor in motor performance.

Funny, I was thinking of getting a scorpion-8, but if it is only "a little better than the XL" I might not bother. The XL is a great little motor, and run with my Kongs hasn't let me down yet, and comes down cool (with heat sink), I just need something better to run with my Jazz, so NEU looks like it's on my list for sure now.

If you want more, the Scorpion -6 is the next step.
