Default Trex 600E 12S Battery Setup Question

Just finished installing all the electronics for the 600E DFC. I am using a CC Pro BEC (up to 12S), CC ICE V2 80, and 2 six cell lipos (4000 mah). I am NOT running a separate Rx pack - hooking up the BEC to the main packs.

Question: I am using a serial battery adapter to connect the 2 batteries (2 female to 1 male). Can I then connect a PARALLEL adapter (1 female to 2 males) to power the BEC and ESC?
Thank you for any input.

not sure what connectors your using or how you have it wired but basically just connect across one of the 2 batteries only
if you goto castles site they have a diagram for the recommend way to do it

Most people recommend to avoid running the BEC Pro off of 12s. It's rated for that but that is a huge step-down. Just wire it up to a single one of your packs.

Here is the recommended wiring.

Only problem with supplying the bec off of one pack is the fact that the average flight can draw 300 - 500 mah for powering the servos and rx / fbl.

This represents a substantial imbalance on your packs which will shorten there life expectancy.

Best advice is not to use CC bec's, and instead use a quality 12s capable bec like the Western Robotics bec.

I run my CC BEC Pro off of a separate 1300mah 3s pack. After about 8 5 min flights I'll put ~1000mah back in it so 125mah per flight at 3s voltage. Off of a 6s that would even be less per flight.

This really isn't accurate, if you apply the correct math. Even if a flight did consume 500mah which rarely they do, that's .5a X 6V = 3 watts using basic round figures. Now calculate that same power when using a BEC: 3 watts / 22.2V = 135ma. Allowing for some efficiency losses in the BEC, add 20% to that and you come up with about 165 ma. That's not an issue from a pure power perspective.

That said I still prefer to run either 2S LiFe or 2S LiPo (depending on electronics) with no BEC at all.

Default re:

on all my helis where i have 2x 6S (12S) setup i run CC BEC Pro directly from the serial connector, so from both batteries being connected (~44.4V) and had no problems
so far. even on my 800, i am running directly from both batteries source.
granted i use Scorpion backup batteries on all helis plugged in rx just in case,
but it has worked great so far!

theshield:
sounds like you have the same 600DFC setup as i do.
i am also using CC BEC Pro and on 600 it is plugged right into both
batteries. it works just fine.

Default Deans Style Adapter

I posted some pics to give a better understanding of what I was trying to do. I should have have stated that I am using a serial Deans style adapter to connect the 2 batteries (2 male to 1 female). Can I then connect another Deans style PARALLEL adapter (1 male to 2 females) to power the BEC and ESC?

Yeah I messed it up, lol.

Hopefully this worked. My apologies for the posts but WiFi is not good. Thank you. If not, please use the above pics but the 2 male parallel adapter is a SERIAL adapter not a parallel.

Hey, guys, what are those yellow wires on the Pulse 12S Lipos? Can anyone show me how to connect those wires to battery connectors please? Thanks.
