Do you have children? Make sure your life insurance is current...

You are brand new at this and bought a T800? The manual is written at the level of builder it is intended for, if it doesn't make sense I **HIGHLY** recommend trying something like a 450 first.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be rude. I'm seriously saying you should check your life insurance if you are being honest in what you say.

Seriously Darbaz, please tell us that you have plenty of experience flying RC helis, but are just new at building heli kits. ...or you are just building this heli to sell and not fly.

If this is your first RC heli ever, then do take what psylence said to heart and do what it takes to learn how to fly RC helis safely first before attempting to use the Trex 800. There are several videos floating around of people who are seeming to spool up and fly a large RC heli for the first time, and honestly it is a miracle that these people or innocent bystanders are not dead. Seriously there is no doubt that a heli of this size can unintentionally kill or injure humans, quickly and easily.

Also, flying RC helis is hard to learn, very hard to learn. It takes months, sometimes years to get good. People who have never flown an RC heli do not realize this. Early on you will crash often. I'm sure you do not intend to crash a nearly $2000 helicopter with camera gear on it over and over.

Unless you are very good at flying RC helis, then step 1 is to learn how to fly RC helis well. There are many ways to accomplish this. Micro helis, such as the Blade Nano CPX are a good start. Flight sims such as RealFlight or Phoenix can also help.

Until then, please leave the Trekker in the box!

I dont feel so bad now. I just finished typing the same warnings on a very similiar post in the Blade 450 thread. People just dont realize that these are not toys and can be very very dangerous.

Hi Darbaz,
Big friendly welcome to HF and the awesome~rewarding helicopter hobby.
There are those who will detract from your goal, as these large and powerful helicopters can be and are extremely dangerous in the hands of an amateur pilot.
Having said this, you may search on youtube and throughout this great Forum for build threads and videos. Check the Finless section.
Please ask advice often, as there are many people here with vast knowledge and plenty of previous building experiences to help you along the way.

I'm curious why you chose such a large bird to build, in an 800 Trekker?

My decision to build thee TRex 700E was solely decided on part size and easier to build than tiny models. For me too, to learn the parts~pieces names and function.
Price also played a major factor in my purchase, and I'm more than happy with my ultimate decision. (Great Hobbies have been treating me right)

Good luck, and enjoy your time spent at HF.

Chas

btw,
where are you from Darbaz?

maybe you can find someone local to get together with you and guide you the right direction about building a Trekker!
i had a lot of fun building mine and sure is a rewarding thing once it is done!

Man, that was painful to watch! Thank goodness for the trees, I can just see that thing landing in the neighbors back yard near where their kids are playing.

rojack has some good advice. Any heli can hurt you, but these bigger helis will shred anything they come in contact with. One missing bolt, or some other lack in concentration can result in a catastrophic event. Never mind their complexity, learning something as critical as hovering in a stationary spot is a very difficult thing to learn.

Get "in person" help, don't try to build it via help from a website, it's too complicated, especially if your as inexperienced as you sound. If you need help, don't be shy about seeking it out locally. And if all else fails, heck, send it to me and I;ll build it for you.

rojack is right about it taking months, or years to learn. Some never figure it out and quit.

Be Safe!

Listen, rather then you get hurt or make mistakes building it, why don't you send me the heli ( I'll pay shipping even). I'll put it together, test fly it, and send you a video. Once you are happy with it we can discuss when you might get it back.....

I see in Darbaz' Public Profile, a TRex 700E.

I think there is much missing from the OP.

We love to jump to conclusion...

Default Align 550e

I pretty much did the same thing. I thought I would just take my time and go one day at a time. That didn't last long. I was way over my head but I had already spent so much money. I sent mine out to OC Helitech, did a Great job, as far as I can tell. It is just sitting on the shelf looking pretty till I get a lot of sim time in and get the 450's flying. It is my inspiration to keep practicing.

Thought that might be the case. Probably just new to building, not flying.
Now that we thoroughly blasted him... Sorry Darbaz.. come back... we're not always this mean to new folks.

He went back to Erbil wherever that is........its for the best, we are a very select group of 800 owners that are very picky as to whom we let in the club......from here on out we should act as a review board and ask for a brief 1 paragraph statement as to why someone wants to add an 800 to the family. Much like going before the condo review board. : )
