Default Grease on the gears?
Today instead of putting a grease on my gears after its in I put this Tri Flow stuff on. It has left a nice coating on the gears but want to check what others use.

Is this stuff ok?

For gears you should use a pressure resistant extra sticky grease to reduce abrasive wear and noise.

I'm using Molykote EM-30L grease for plastic and it works fine for me.

Typically I use Futuba white servo grease on my gears but I forgot and this was all I had with me. I'm sure I see someone mention they uses this but wanted to check.

I found that 'O' ring pure silicon grease is great, obtainable from Scuba Diver shops so really easy to obtain. About 10 times cheaper than the so called "One Way Bearing Grease" but much stickier!

I bought this triflow grease with teflon. Really sticky also. Feels quite ok, I'm no expert but I think it easy to get it there and it seems to hold well.

I use Tri-flow Clear Synthetic Grease. It is quite thick, it sticks to the gears well and it lasts long time. Suitable for plastic as well as metal. Very happy with it.

After looking at it, I think it's slightly different than silicon grease.. but works well for me. Don't worry about tube size, btw, no need to use a lot of it.
