Default Forza 700 - clearance to run 720mm blades with 115mm tail blades?

I am finalizing my forza 700 but haven't decided on the blade selections.

Does anyone know whether it is safe to run 720mm F3C blades with 115mm tail blades for mild 3D? I know it is probably a close call. But any definitive answer is appreciated.

LaDon,

Do you mind telling us why you have 115mm tails instead of the stock 105?

I did order some rail 716 with 106 tails? Should I have bought the 116?

I am running Zeal 718mm mains and 110mm tail blades. Plenty of clearance as LaDon stated.

We had the KDE 700-505 motor in our forza for a while. It made huge power and torque and with it the 105 tail blades didn't have enough authority to hold the tail. We had a blow out and wrecked the heli over that. We have since went to the KDE 700-535 motor. That took some weight of the heli and it didn't have the ungodly torque of the other motor. Since doing that we have went back to the 105 size blade on the tail. You will be fine to run the 105s. Also Ryan really puts the heli through the ringer so if the 105s are holding now Here is a video of the 105 blades on there and as you can see it is working fine.

I'm wondering why they used that low of a gear ratio on the tail? It seems most of the time it's 1:4.8 or higher on a lot of the other machines I've seen. Was the Forza meant to run really high headspeed?

to be fair, forza700 is one of the lightest hardcore 3D 700 helis. I am sure it will be great for good 3D flyer (smooth coherent movements with no sudden pitch pump) not that I know how to do 3D at all, but I can tell the difference between Hiroki Ito and many 3D bangers

For my low rpm applications, I pre-emptively orderded the 3-blade tail. Now that mine is stretched to forza 800, I have even less of a concern on tail authority.

My tail is solid from 1900- 2150.
Haven't flown it at a lower headspeed.

X7 has the same ratio as the Forza... seems quite normal to me...

Maybe they don't need as high a ratio on the bigger machines? My Aurora has 1:4.9 and I think the Trex has 1:4.95? Most seem to be over 1:4.8. I've seen enough flights where it's really ripping around sick might be good due to the headspeed but maybe less effective at low voltage. That's probably where 110mm and 115mm tail blades would come in handy.

Beem doing some research. Most 700 are around the same ratio as the forza. The 4.95 is voor the trex700n... the 700e is 4.35? Synergy offers on the e7se 4.9 or 4.5... logo is in the same ball park. Goblin increased to 4.67..

I know at the low 1:4 range the tail starts having problems at lower headspeed (Trex 600s had a bit of a problem with this on their Pro version when it first came out). I think they did the lower ratio so the tail doesn't explode at extreme headspeeds (ie-2300-2700rpm on a 700 class). I just want sure if the numbers. I know on a 450 you could probably get away with over a 1:5 tal ratio, but I think that's more the physics of the smaller rotor.
