Default Help me build a dream 300x

I was digging though boxes of extras and found two airframes I forgot about.

I want to build a kickass 300x so what should I get?

I do have the metal gear servos for a 450x and a BD3x fbl that I could use plus a 450x esc.

The frame I'm using has the Asteroid frame stiffener on it.
I have a couple CF birds already so I want to keep this one with the plastic frame.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

It's going to start getting hard to get any part's for these soon, both oem and aftermarket. I honestly think the ship has sailed on this one.

I disagree, I can still find OEM parts for my Blade SR
That said, for aftermarket parts, microheli seems to be your best bet. Lynx seems to have dumped all their 300/450x stock, so I wouldn't count on them anymore.

That scares me, because my 285XL is mostly a lynx heli. Typhon 2215h on 4S 1550mah 35C pulse, YEP40a ESC, 285mm zeal mains, 50mm oxy3 tails, carbon boom, carbon frame, carbon fin, no struts, full lynx tail, full lynx head and carbon lynx skids. (4300RPM sure is fun ). I might just start changing parts out for microheli.

eh, I think there will be stuff around for quite a while yet. I can still find far more 300x stuff around because its newer brother uses so many of the same parts. When you think about it, a 300cfx is essentially the same bird except for the different frame

Feebay shows scads of stuff out there.

Ah, you guys are more spoiled with stupidly cheap shipping!
Ordering from most ebay stores to canada are about 20$ in shipping!

Its pretty hard already, not a future bird since the life of 300cfx didn't last that long... Both are removed from the major sites for parts...

You can probably scavenge for a while but its going to be harder and more expensive, like the only benefits 300 had (cheap and available).

I was kind of kidding, but 270cfx or Oxy 3 are the way to go if you want "kickass"...

the cfx is still up for sale on horizon's site though and I just bought a lynx cfx frame for 24.99. I think there's life in the bird yet.

When it goes, I'll xfer the electronixs over to whatever is available.

ya, but I dumped my 270 solely because I didnt want to pay 30 bucks for a pair of standard HH blades. Love that oxy though.

Both of my 300X's are still stock, except for a replacement rudder servo on one (JR) and KBDD Tail Blades on both. And I do have external BEC's on both.

I never really saw any need to modify this one at all. I just take it for what it is and fly it. If I crack it up, it's cheap (blade grips are $5.99 to 6.99 a pair, depending on where you purchase them).

I didn't add any stiffeners, or metal upgrades, etc.

I still have my 300 CFX it's currently stripped of electronics but I'll get her up again once I can come up with the funds. It just needs servos and another FBL
