Default Align 3GX compared to Beast X?

Has anyone flown a Beast X and an Align 3GX on the same heli? If so, how did they compare?

wow quite the question considering the align unit is under scruetinity at the moment. You know resests in flight etc. I have never been fond of align rush to market electronics. I am NOT saying the new unit does not work but I sure as heck wont put my money there. PERIOD.

I never could get the 3G to work right, I would not waste money on the 3GX.
Too much of a pain to program, dragging the laptop to the field gets old. The Beast is way simpler, and with the new settings that V3 has to offer, the cyclic POP is off the hook!!!
Align needs to slow down and build some quality stuff, I lost all confidence in their electronics when heli's started to fail because of the 2 in 1 units that were junk. Even there ESC's don't seem to last very long compared to other companies.

the 3gx unit is a much more aggressive unit and it doesnt hold as well as a beast x. i didnt like the 3gx on my 700e so the beast x went in and its alot less "nervous" feeling and more locked also. i like the 3gx unit in my 600e pro and i flew a friends 600e pro that i built and setup exactly the same but with a beast x. its alot tamer but i think that can be adjusted to be more aggressive in the settings.
bottom line is if you are in the market for a 3 axis gyro then get the beast x. it does fly better than the 3gx

If you're in 3D, 3GX is hard to beat. If you fly sport, big air or inbetween, buy a Beast.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear from someone who has tried both. How would you describe you're flying style? 3D? Sport? etc.

When you say the 3GX "doesn't hold as well", are you referring to the tail? Or something else?

I have a 600e pro that started as a flybar heli with a gp780, had annoying tail issues and went to a Spartan quark, and it was amazing. Decided to go flybarless, bought the 3GX. Back to nothing but tail problems, mostly a damn drift I couldn't get rid of by nearly rebuilding the whole heli. After giving up on 3GX I bought a beast x. Have to say it is completely solid. Easier to fly, easier to program (flying sport mode), feels a lot better in the air. Was using Leon Luke's settings on the 3GX, they felt ok - but I was amazed at how easy it flies with the beast. I love my 600e pro, but will never waste money on Aign gyros anymore.

my flying style is sport. and the reason is im just not that good yet but i do basic flips and rolls and what not but i really liked how quick my 600 pro moved with the 3gx. i got comfortable to the point where i was doing flips and rolls at eye level. the thing about the hold is i have to correct while doing continuous flips and what not otherwise the heli will drift away.
on the 700 the 3gx was for some reason a little too nervous for me almost to the point where it was scary especially when it came time to land. like pani said i think the 3gx is a 3D gyro where the beast seems to to be like a sport gyro and makes the heli move like it floats. but i have yet to play with the settings more to get the heli rotating faster. its much tamer and you really just have to fly it to understand. but by far the beast x will hold better and you will have to correct very little to nothing.

ive had 3g,3gx and beastx on my 250 - beast x is the best hands down.
superb. Almost no tweaking required to get it flying like a dream, as opposed to months of tweaking on the align without success. no comparison. (IMHO)

Just curious, what is your Pot 2 position? (How many marks below or up center position.)

Thx.
That's 3 marks up, I run my 500 ESP between 2 and 3 marks up.
In other words, almost the same setting.
