Default Opensource autopilot for TRex 450..

Came across this, they where discussing using these as recon drones for survivalist situations.. Interesting..

Thanks for posting. I have zero interest in multicopters, but a 450 platform could be interesting...

I wonder how it compares to the OpenPilot?

I'm not sure, I was looking through the documents at OpenPilot. I did not even realize that these sort of autonomous projects existed.

I'm quite intrigued by this, It does not seem that any HeliFreaks are into either of these projects?

I'm certainly interested although I'm not sure I really understand what it's all about. From what I've read it sounds to me like you can program your heli to take off, fly to a certain point and altitude, then maybe go somewhere else and then return? Am I right? I don't know.

Given my inability to program my VCR I'd hate to see what I could do with one of these things!

Yes, I think that's a pretty accurate description.. I find it cool for $300-400 you can take your heli to an autonomous level. Best get busy on the VCR programming lol..
