Default Blowing Up Throttle Servos

Second time now my Futaba 9650 has went crazy on the bench and stripped it's gears.

It 'whines' until I unplug as though the motor is stuck on.

If I set the servo digital in the gov menu it gets hot too the touch so I've left it analog.

Running on a LiFe pack, servo is digital rated at 6 volt, perhaps the fully charged LiFe pack is the issue?

Another clue.. I was doing part of the link compensation and smacking fore/aft collective real fast for 10-20 seconds when it happened this last time.

I need to find what I'm doing wrong and fix it before it happens in flight. Heli benched until I get it figured.

first off the 9650 is a digital servo and must be run in digital mode. not doing so will eat up the servo electronics, even though it is not hot to the touch it is the circuit board and processor that suffers and dies. warm to the touch could very well be caused by binding or stiff links. use a temp gun if you have one and run the servo hard till you think it is hot. get a reading most of these servo can handle a decent amount of heat I think it is around 130, but double check. my internet access is really poor out at sea.

just a thought i have the 2 in one regulator and if one of the servos is not set at the right type ie a digital servo set at analog it would heat up almost to hot to touch

maybe the setup is giving the servo to much juice. i presume that you have changed the servo type in the governer menu. but i do not run LIFE SETUP MYSELF

Running it in analog probably killed it.

I've switched to an Align 510 and have a NEW, interesting, problem.

I have to unplug the servo from the 750 and plug it in after initialization or the servo doesn't get power. Once I do this it seems fine but I doubt I'll fly it until I get this resolved.

Any ideas?
