Great tip for beginners, got it here
When I was starting out last year I found a great tip that saved me a lot of money and frustration. I used 500 size skids on my 450 to keep it from tipping and also giving me extra clearance and survivability. Whoever this HF was I think he called them the "Big Bird" skids. Yeah it looks a little ridic but who cares. They are just way more stable and a great tip with so little work. I haven't lost a blade or F. shaft since. Still practicing the same way. Thanks HFreaker if you see this! And new folks, try it. All it takes it drilling a few holes.
