Will a Jeti make you a better pilot? (No, Seriously?)
So I noticed something I think we all felt using a Jeti the first time. When I mention this, ZOMG! The rage it brings out...
I know no radio will turn me into a Tareq overnight, but I did notice an immediate "we'll say difference" that affected the edge of my ability. So this is what I ask. And it's two things. One, when you first switched to Jeti, how would you describe the impact it made to your flying, and how did it feel? Two, if you have owned Jeti for a long time, do you feel like that "we'll say instant advantage" stayed or normalized itself away as you got used to the TX? My story: I instantly got better at the edge of my flying skill. Pre Jeti I could fly up, snap 90 degrees, and roll then recover. Just never really perfectly axial. First flight with Jeti, I could do this perfectly axial, nearly every time. Zero extra effort. Of course it felt better, in ways you can't really explain, but in that instance it tangibly extended the edge of my own progression, and as soon as I point out that that is instantly improving my flying, the pitchforks come out. Just want to hear how you guys explain it and from those of you with more time on Jeti, how this effect does over time. (I can't yet comment on that) |

I haven't used my jeti yet but when i jumped from dx6i to dx18 i was suprised how much more precise my flying was just due to the transmitter change. So yes, better tx makes a difference.

I need a thin TX for easy full stick movement in left/right maneuvers. My sideways tic tics became easier.
I measured major TX's thickness before purchasing and found Jeti to be the thinnest, one of the major reasons I bought it.

Yes you can feel some difference with different radio.
I remember when I was flying with a Futaba 9C the latency of that radio was very high When switch to the 10C I could feel the difference in latency. I even made the test on a flight simulator and yes there was a big difference with these two radio. So yes latency and precision of the stick could make a difference in flying. I did not feel to much difference in the latency from Futaba to Jeti but the stick precision is there. I now fly the DS16 and it is the best radio that I own so far. Ok. I get it.. this is the bit of information the non-Jeti users are not prepared for yet... :rofl
You could tell em, it's true, real, and that fact won't fit their reality so you instigate rage... What you guys might want to know also. That precision is in the Horus also, and if I am correct about why, so shall it be in the Taranis hall gimbals. I don't see em as a threat to Jeti, but if I were Spektrum, I'd be worried about those terrible Two hall sensor options. (Jeti and Horus) Both embarrass Spektrum while despite their price, feeling like they cost much more than they do. I'd be crappin bricks. |
