Default Setup problems 450

Hey guys, I have the following setup:

HK450 MT
MG16R tail servo
HK 401b Gyro
DX6i

When I spool it up it HH mode, the tail wants to creep round. In rate mode it remains where it should be. Im thinking its just a setting to reduce this effect but not sure which to adjust first. Im using gyro switch 0=40 1=60. Limit on the 401 is all the way down counter clockwise and delay likewise. If for instance I run it up slowly in rate mode and switch to HH as its at speed, it seems more steady.

Also, its taking a lot of right and forward cyclic to keep it level as it runs up. Im using very gentle rates at the moment but even then it has a strong tendancy to roll left and pitch up.

Thanks for any advice, with these two things fixed, she'll be ready for maiden.

Rgds

Rich

you have to start with heli in HH mode another words let it initialize. if that don't work land and flip the switch from HH mde to rate mode back and forth about 3 times. also you need to do the mods on the 401B also it wi;; not react the same on the ground as it does in the air don't worry about spool up check gyro in the air

Ninj, make sure the swash plate is perfectly level and when you increase the pitch that all three servos move the same so swash stays level as pitch increases. Make sure all the servo arms are centered when sticks are centered. I had to adjust the sub trim on the DX6i a bit on a couple of servos to get perfectly centered. When I lifted off the first time I had a little drift backwards that a little trim on transmitter took care of. Also check your throw settings all should be 100% and D/R Expo. My DR is at 70% and +5%, Normal is 100% and INH. I actually have been flying in normal mode. Gyro is set to 40% and 70%. I did manually set the gain at about 60-70%. I am using different gyro. Tail is rock solid. Am at the office and cannot remember all the settings, but if you like I can post my DX6i settings this evening. Also if you haven't done so balance the main and tail rotor blades. It does make a difference. I have a dozen flights on mine and I am a novice so it has to fly pretty good for me to keep it out of the dirt.

You may need to up the gyro gain for the HK401. I found 65 is good for me. 60 was too low for HH.
