Shadow. On the DW 40" Foamie Edge, Mike has also included carbon fiber along the fuse that also spreads out onto the elevator that eliminates flex. Also, the main wing is carbon fibre sparred and is 9 MM thick, while most Depron Foamies are 6 MM. Also makes the wing a much smooter flier. I would strongly recommend this kit.
RC groups in the 3D Foamies section has a few good DW Sites. |

thanks for the heads up chris i will probably pick one up in the future but i want to stay away from depron for the time being...i have narrowed my choice down to two planes i just need to go ahead and order one....looking at the Hacker Super Zoom 2 or the Hacker Zoombi....a couple of locals i know fly the hyperion sniper ii (hacker rebrands its super zoom 2 for hyperion) and they love it, and the zoombi is just the bipe version and i really like bipes.
looks good bk would like to check out the next one they have, how did your son like it? have you had a chance to maiden your mig yet? took my extra300 out last evening for my first flight after ripping off the front end...plane flys great again, really learning alot more stuff, was practicing some low speed almost stall flight to learn the limits of the plane and i really worked on my landings....managed 6 in a row without issues. would come in land the plane swing it around and take back off again. |

It was cool, man my boy liked it, it was just really hot. There were a couple of guys with trex450 who were just learning how to hover, they obviously haven't seen the safety video...they were hovering a couple feet a way at chest height very unstable, gyro not adjusted properly I just walked away from that could be dangerous situation. But in September they are having a big Heli bash thing, Matt Botos will be there flying with another Futaba guy....I'm def going to that

He was actually a huge A hole, my son and I walk over to watch him put the wings on one of his large scale planes..it was the plane in the first video. And he had a wing in a wing bag on the ground.. He seen me son standing there in front of me WITH MY HANDS ON HIS SHOULDERS and he said.. " sheesh omg..I better get my wing off the ground with all these kids running around"....WTF!!!! really! I said to him very politely since I was a visitor, " sir, there are NO kids running around anywhere, the only kid around is MY BOY, and he is standing here watching you in envy assemble of your beautiful plane"...the dick bagger just looked up ,e and went back to work... What ever. I don't understand why folks have to be so rude! BTW everyone else at the field was great! Asking my name where I was from esc. I told em all I was a pro Futaba pilot and their field sucked...loll just kidding

I had the same problem with a large local club in my area. I stopped by twice and tried to talk to people and got treated like a leper. Got a lecture on the training lessons to see if I can qualify to fly there. No flying alone. Must atend meetings or get fined. etc.etc. These clowns must have had too much time on there hands. However, I did finally find a great electric only club a little farther down the road. and another heli only club that is friendly with the club I joined and was invited to fly at any time. As a bunch of heli guys fly Foamies and the electric club has a few budding heli pilots. The only requirement was AMA membership and I feel thats a good thing anyway because of the insurance.

Same thing happens around here. There is a big beautiful AMA airfield ( I believe that the field is even on realflight) BUT the guys there are old Nitro and gas guys and they look down their noses at anything electric or heaven forbid a helicopter!!!!!
Sad thing is that until the beginning of this year there was an electric only club (awesome bunch of guys) that I was a member of. They were in the city limits renting a portion of a city park/ rodeo grounds for a field. The city decided that they didnt want to pay upkeep for the rest of the park/ rodeo grounds so they just closed the whole park throwing the Gilbert quiet Flyers out on their ear. Now their is a bunch of guys looking for a new field. Thats turning out to be harder than it sounds.

I was reading through the rules of that club and those guys really have way to much time on there hands and are clearly out to fine folks for anything and everything they can!! All kind of levels of probation and member levels, and certain privileges for upper level members.....bump that crap.....that just adds unnessisary stress to the hobby.....just go have fun and fly!!! Leave the drama at home with the wife and just go fly!

Will over sized horns be ok?

depends....if they are super big you will get a servo issue and could bind up...take a pic if you can..literally if you want to make your own servo horns for the elevons you can use popsicle sticks..or take the horns you have and cut them down and use them with new holes drilled.

why is it so freakin hot outside...got through about a battery and a half on my extra before i had to call it quits....didnt even get a chances to put my u-2 up in the sky.
Plus side is the mods i did to my extra made it feel better and i managed some basic harrier practice for the first time, the plane always came down wheels down so i would call that successful so far lol. Also pulled off my first snap roll, they look alot cooler in person |
