Default aileron and pitch servo swap

Hi all,

I was putting my tiny bird together and I swapped the aileron and pitch servo from the manual. The lower of the two looked like it might hit the main gear head on. Anyone else swap, those who did not, any issue???

Cheers,
Leslie

swapping the 2 servo's is no different than the instructions way except for the fact that it is a mirror image , it will work both ways. if you run a lot of throw then the arm will contact the main gear no matter what side it's on. run the balls on the 4th hole out on the straight 2 sided servo horn, then cut the 5th hole off to clear the main gear under extreme negative pitch and left or right aileron.

also cut the top servo's opposite side that isnt being used on the servo horn or it contacts the canopy. hope this helps.

Hi all,

Ernie,
I get your point, thanks. I was more concerned about directionality of the main gear and the servo arm. I chose to swap sides so the arm, if it hit, would not jam into the main gear. By swapping the low arm is on the side that will "bounce" off the main gear.

Probably a moot point. Now that I've powered things up, I doubt it will hit.

Cheers,
Leslie

if your running the balls on the 4th hole out and have clipped the 5th off , you shouldn't hit..
Also , i've always run Expo on my machines, this little machine likes no expo and max out the swash AFR settings till just before binding of the swash for Ail and Elev if your going to be doing flips and stuff.

Happy Flying...
