Give us a little more info, what size batteries, I know you said 1-6 cell but are we talking 2,200 or 5,000 mAh?

If you want reasonable quality at reasonable prices start here:

or here:

iCharger, PL, and Hyperion are all good brands and you'll get people talking nice about any of them. PL and Hyperion tend to cost more than iCharger, but iChargers are by no means junky. About to put Blue Tooth into my Super Duo (Mr. Mel gets big thanks on this) since their latest software revision is BT enabled. No more pesky USB wires

As stanley mentioned, you'll want to match your charger choice to what you need if you want to save $$.

An option is to get a decent cheep charger and use it until you need something bigger. You would then have a decent backup charger. It would also be useful if you have to charge a bunch of batteries in preparation to going out and fly.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Something like this would do what you want to do now, and also handle up to a Trex 500 battery at 2C. I have heard it is a decent charger.

Personally, I use a charger that is essentially 4 of these things squished together. That way I can charge 4 batteries at a time independently. It is nice.

Don't forget the dual outlet TP 820CD. Gives you 800W to charge. I find it handy for parallel charging 3 cells on one side an a couple of 6 cells on the other. Thunder Power has great warranties too.

I believe Tjintech.com had a review of the TP and hyperion chargers

PL6 or PL8 will do the job now and tomorrow
And with the new MPA board, it will cover pretty much anything you have or will have.

The Powerlab6 with an inexpensive 24v server supply setup performs well and is expandable. You can control up to 15 Powerlab6s from one unit. Below is a comparison of the Powerlab6 vs a charger that is limited to 30 amps output such as the 306b or 3010b. For $15 more than the 306b its quite a bargain.

I only agree with this only IF you're planning on staying with 450 class or smaller helis. I have several 50 watt chargers and they're all gathering dust right now. Waste Of money IMHO. Once you start running 6 cells you're going to hate those 50 watt chargers. Even if you had 200 of them, you'd still be limited to less than 2 amp charge rate on a 6 cell. With a 550 class battery it will take over 2 hours per charge.

Default I agree

Buy the best charger you can afford right off the bat. I ended up with 2 hyerion duo's because I hate waiting for batts. A self contained charger will drive you nuts. You can find a good used one and a ps off the classifieds that will rock now and take you into much larger birds.

Thunder power tp820
Charges up to 7S and is duel port. Ridiculous charge rates and watts. You'll never outgrow it

+100

Luckily, I only bought one 50W charger and it's still being used to charge my LiFe receiver packs, so its not a complete loss. Even the 450 packs are parallel-charged on my big charger.

My advice is to get a smaller charger with at least 200W of power and a para-board. That way it will parallel charge 6 450 packs at 1C for that all important stick time while you're learning, and charge a 550 pack at 1C to tide you over once you move up to a larger bird. 6 packs should keep you flying for about an hour, then you'll need a break anyway.

I have the TP 820 and really like it. If I was to buy another charger it would be the Icharger 306B.. We tested my TP and the newHyperion super Duo and I charger and the I charger was blasting 30 amps while duo did 20 and my TP only did 18 amps. Now this was just a basic test on a 6 cell 5000 mah pack using a high end 42 amp power supply. I love my TP but I think I would go Icharger after seeing it perform in front of me.
