Default Heli Jive Mode 5 vs Mode 4 throttle %

I'm switching to mode 5 on my Heli Jive, and don't know what change there will be to headspeed or if I will need to adjust throttle curves.

Mr Mels calculator doesn't allow for mode 5.

Any advice ?

Default Heli Jive Mode 5 vs Mode 4 throttle %

Mode 4 will calculate HS based on the pack and the spool up at 0 pitch each and very time. So at 65% TC you may get different HS based on the variances in pack quality.

Mode 5 is GOV store. The HS will be locked into the HJ based on the first spool up following programming. The HJ will put out the same HS irrespective of pack quality for each successive spool up. For this reason you should use your "weakest" pack for the first spool up. Failing this you may overdraw your weaker packs.

If you have different MAH and C rated packs I would suggest staying on Mode 4. If they are all the same MAH and C just different brands then go Mode 5.

In theory you shouldn't have to change your TC at all when switching from Mode 4 to 5 although you may see a slight change in final HS although marginal.

Hope this makes sense.

OK, Thanks!

Sounds like I should stick with mode 4.
