Default DIY mod to silence DX8

Hi to all !

I've been quite happy with my DX8, but always hated the non off switchable buzzer. Quite annoying specially by night time.
Two days ago i dumped the DX8 in the ground due to stepping on the SIM wire (will go wireless from now on) and broke the TH switch, so with the TX open i looked for that mighty buzzer.
It's in the LCD controller board, and unfortunatly is SMD, quite firm on the board, could not take it off, have no SMD gear or experience.
So i looked at the board where could i get the buzzer signal.

In the middle of the two 3-pin components in the next pic (look like FET's), there is a small coper strip conecting both. It's the strip that goes to the other side of the board to control the buzzer. Quite easy to see and check for continuity to the buzzer side. It's under the hot glue that i put for stress relief for the solders. That little copper strip needs to be interrupted with a Xacto and i soldered two thin wire directly on the pin of both FET's. Put the switch of your favorite flavour between those two pins, and that's it

The chosen switch, had it laying around, a bit big for the app, forced me to remove some plastic from back case and remove one leg that holds the "module" board.

This is a MOD that requires regular soldering skills, but only for users used to assemble/disassemble TX and comfortable with moding. It's not hard by any means but be careful with your TX if you go this route.
The final result is a much more enjoyable TX, so nice to scroll that weel without the buzz, Spektrum should have that situation done with software. Don't need the buzz when programming the TX, it's quite disturbing.

Loving the MOD, if you enjoy silence, or listening to music without interference while programming, go for it
