Hey guys

I have been a loyal BeastX user for quite a while, and I really like it and am very familiar with the setup. I recently saw the SK 720 in action and was very impressed, so I picked up a used 720 to try. I will be using it on a TRex 550 V2 using a CC Ice 100 with a Western Robotics super Hercules BEC running 6v to the SK 720. I fly mainly sport with some sloppy 3D thrown in there, that's primarily why I went with the 720 (bailout if need be) so I can try new moves with a safety net.

I have watched the setup videos and the unit appears to be fairly easy to set up for a Skookie (Skookum rookie ) but is there anything else I need to know before I get going on this?

Thanks georgi, I will do that for sure.

It looks like an easy job to set up from scratch, but there are things I don't know yet... For example, if I use the BEC that I have, there's no need for the power bus, correct?

=] you're fine without the bus, maybe a HV 2S setup would use it, early on it was popular to help lower vibrations by having less wires to the 720, but since then we have learned how to build our heli's better!

Good info

As far as mounting goes, I have had great success with the gray 3M 4011 mounting tape on the BX. I will be mounting the 720 on the carbon plate below the anti-rotation bracket on the 550, I do have a metal plate and some PU gel if needed as well. Any issues using just the 3M tape? My heli is pretty vibe-free as far as I can see ( I know, everyone says that right?)

=] the tape on it's own may not be enough? we use the metal plate and thin SK white tape it to the unit then whatever tape you prefer to use on the heli. I'm about to try the BE with just SK black tape, no plate. you have a vibe analyser in the software, this helps to find the best mounting for you. great tool!

My SK540 is mounted to my 7HV with just 3m 4011 and it works great.

My 720be is currently mounted to the boom block on my 500esp

720BE
thin foam tape
metal plate
3m 4011

no problems yet, I am going to try mounting it directly just with 3m 4011 and test.

Thank you gentlemen, quite insightful.

I will report back if I have any questions or problems with setup. I'm very much looking forward to trying this unit, if all goes well I will be putting the 540 on my other birds.
