The Beastx is excellent, easy to use and works great, or if you on a budget the Tarot unit is very good as well, with use of pc link makes the tarot easier.
I have both and very happy.
Good luck

3GX, vbar, beast and after this weekend with 5 successful flight ZYX

The ZYX is the best bang for your buck. Specially beginners.

In my book that gives you a legitimate opinion!
I just think it is all too common in VS threads were users may onl;y have experience with one particular unit and they reccomend it over others they have 0 experince with.

I have 3 copterx and 3 beastx and I think the beastx flies much better. I felt that the beastx is worth paying 5 times as much for.

I've got 3gx V2 and beastx b3.8. Those two are both good, and the price is the same. But if I need to choose one - of course - beastx. More things to set and tune, and it doesn't feel as cheap as 3gx. Although, I have some vibration problems with 3gx, but only when I lend. So if you fly bigger helis, 3gx is not a bad unit, but get beastx. If you fly smaller, get beastx. cheers.

I confess having only used 3G and SK720, but if you want STABILITY the SK720 will fly like a coaxial, or a demon, depending on the settings. I fly gentle scale type and have SK720s on my 450 and 500. I leave the self leveling on all the time, but you can turn down the %age. I don't think any system "drops right in", but you can download the SK manual and see if it looks readable, and there's great help over on the Skookum robotics forum.

I have a beastx and a tarot zyx and both are good units. Beastx is definitely better and easier to setup but if your on a budget you can't beat the tarot for the price and if you spend the 5$ for the pc cable it's super easy to setup by way of laptop or computer

Tarot ZYX is only 1/3 of the BeastX $$, it is big different. Does it really perform close enough? I'm planning to upgrade a new head, not sure if a good idea to go for FBL or just go for a new head?

I tried to set up a MicroBeast and I found it annoying to use the LED's
and the sticks on my transmitter. I did finish the setup, but didn't get to fly it.

In the end I bought a second hand VBar and I like the fact, that I can use
my PC to set it up. I can go both forwards and backwards in the procedure.
With the BeastX I can't go backwards.

I have flown my 500 with the VBar only two times, and it worked very well.
I never got to fly the MicroBeast. But it's very popular here and I have reason
to believe it performs on the same level as the VBar.

For me the real issue was personal - ease of programming. I haven't considered
any cheaper alternatives.

Cheers
Erik

I have two CopterX units and one BeastX. The CopterX units work fine and are a great bang for your buck. If you just want to get your feet wet with FBL to see what it is like you can't really go wrong with the 3X1000 or the ZYX. But the BeastX is in another league, especially with the V3 firmware. The tail in particular is much better than the CopterX.

I have the zyx setup. I had difficulty with the setup but only because I was WAY over thinking things. I used the PC link and now that I know not to over analyze things I can have it setup in no time flat. 10 minutes easy and 20 tops! With the john_nz software you can't go wrong. HH is great, tail is solid as a rock and the heli "feels" like it has a lot of weight to it even though its a 450 if that makes since. A head and gyro can be had for under $90.
