I've always heard 2800 but i'd do like 2500 just to be safe.

The limit fore them are 2800rpm
Some people run them over 3K and someone people have seen them disintegrate in the air so to be safe dont run them over 3000rpm.
I run mine at 2950 rpm.

I have run them at 3200 rpm for hundreds of flights with no problems. I have seen other brands of woods blow apart but never the pro woods.

If you are just hovering then the pro wood is ok for 2800 according to manufacturer...and many do run them faster...

But if you are doing hard stuff then you are probably good enough to not crash and thus using carbon fibers.

I'm using the pro wood at a governed 3000...doing flips and rolls....nothing too hard and haven't had a problem...but it is only because I couldn't get the 3k carbon fibers and just needed to get in the air!

If you don't call that stuff 3d, then what do you call 3d?

Manufacturer says 2800 RPM. Anything above taht, you are on your own.

And think about if it sheds a blade and harms someone, what will teh court case look like? Well, "I know they are rated to only 28000 RPM, but a bunch of guys online said they are fine at higher speeds, so they must know better than the manufacturer." Yeap, you will win that one.

Not sure about Norway...but in America getting sued is a favorite past time. Perhaps a major contributor to the specs on the heli blade? Not to say one should ignore the specs...I want everyone to be safe...the pilots and the spectators. An almost contradictory statement seeing the overall hobby of heli 3d flying!

Maybe they don't, but if you get sued they WILL find people who do know.

And yes, in the US suing is a favorite pastime, so you can either prepare for it, or deal with the consequences.

Your choice.

Out of curiousity what is the max headspeed for carbon fiber main and since we are on the subject a carbon fiber tail?

I would think with carbon fiber you need to worry more about the feathering shaft bolts giving way. But I don't have anything to go by...anyone have any numbers?
