Default pin flag

So while I'm repair my X7 thought I'd take the time to mount the castle pin flag. Thing is instructions say not to mount on electrically conductive material including carbon. I was hoping to install on the centre battery tray sticking out one side. How have people mounted the pin flag in their helicopters?

So no one is using the pin flag? Surely some people are using them? Would be good if could plug all electrics in then put canopy in and then arm when ready.

I assume you are talking about the Castle Arm Lock Harness and key that attaches to the Edge white wire.

I have one on an airplane mounted on the side of a fiberglass fuselage and it works great. An airplane prop is sharp, dangerous and instantly comes up to speed.

For helicopters I don’t think you need any extra safety features. Most use the Hold switch or another throttle lock switch to prevent the motor from starting. Also many use the white wire for an external governor. I have never seen anyone use the Arm Lock on a helicopter. If you did activate the throttle by accident it will spool up slowly so you have plenty of time to shut it down.

As long as it’s electrically isolated it should work correctly.

I fly Spektrum and use throttle hold in FM setup and then use Governor to set up a secondary throttle hold switch. Both switches need to be off for the heli to spool up for some added safety.

I used a mount from here but lost the key so I didn't put it back on since my last crash.
