Default black anodize head???

anyone knows where i could find anodize service that doesnt charge an arm and a leg for? called my local metal coloring here in California and got a quote for 350-400 usd to have my head stripped and anodize black.

Yeah, anodizing is typically expensive. You can do it yourself easily enough provided you have the proper chemicals and the dye you want to use.

The cheapest way to do it is to ask your shop to give you a call when next they are anodizing a batch of parts and ask to have yours included in that batch. That will run free to ~$80.

you could use a black (or what ever color you prefer) magic marker. the ones with a wide tip may do the trick. OR black shoe polish? careful stripping the existing anodize off. if you scorch the alunimum (using harsh chemical like oven cleaner) it will cause the globe to stick. the anodizing acts as a lubricant.

Yeah, don't fly with a bare aluminium head. Even the silver one is anodized.
