hyperion (scorpion) 2221-1630 not dead?

I was doing some setup and accidentally reversed my throttle channel. Had to grab the rotor to prevent any indoor carnage and I saw and smelled smoke coming from the motor.

At the time I just assumed the motor was toast but today I hooked it up to a 3s ESC and it beeped normally, then spooled up just fine under no load. It ran for 30 seconds and did not heat up the motor. The 25a 3s esc was barely warm.

Did I just get lucky or what? How do I test to see if the motor is ok?
