I'll edit the 1st post to add the Spyder and update the other one. Do you have dimensions for that Spyder?

SpyderBatteries Black Widow 6S 4000mAh 30C LiPo

SpyderBatteries provide an unbeatable combination of price and performance; their low internal resistance and high cycle life ensure that you are getting maximum value from your battery.

While their C ratings may be 30-100% lower than other brands, you'll find that Spyder packs will regularly outperform their competitors' higher rated batteries. SpyderBatteries products are always advertised with their actual C ratings - compare their internal resistance values with other brands and you'll see the difference.

The 6S 4000mAh pack has a maximum discharge rate of 30C, while you can charge it at up to 5C to get back to action as fast as possible.

Spyder 5300 30C (very underrated compared to batts rated 2x) which works best for my COG
Dimensions: 135x62x42mm
Weight: 716g

Spyder 4000 30C

No battery fence on my x5 so someone else might be able to confirm that

I can confirm that the Turnigy 4000mAh 40C lipo's fit. You need to place them side-on. Despite what the HK website says, they are no longer than the 30C, but are slightly wider, heavier, and have 8AWG leads. Balance of my X5 is good with it installed.

I don't have the battery fence, so I can't comment on that.

Can you please post back what you think of them. I started to order a couple of them a couple months back but I have a hard time convincing myself to use my baby as a guenea pig on a new brand

Winmax 4200mah 6S 30C-60C nano-platinum
Weight: 653g (COG good)
8C charge
Dimensions: 135mm x 44mm x 53mm

Internal resistance cold, less than 4 per cell (iCharger 208)

Good fit even with the battery settle kit.

I've also had a good run with Winmax batteries in my 450 helis (2200mah 3S 50C). Just received some 2650mah 6S 30C for the 500s.

Well, I got them and they aren't 135mm but 150mm. I'm not thinking I'm going to keep them.

Yeah, I got the RMA today to send the Chrome packs back. Going to try the Spyder packs. Spoke to David at Progressive to be sure the dims are real.

Default Can I use Turnigy XT60 plugs?

I've got a bunch of XT60 plugs. Are they up to the task for this X5?

Soldering up the ESC and batteries now.

I'm using them and they seem fine. They seem to be getting maybe about 5 degrees warmer than ambient temperature during a flight. Or to put it another way, I can only just tell that they have warmed slightly when I feel them after a flight. I'm not flying hard 3D, just simple aerobatics, gentle flips, big loops, etc. Might be a different story if you are running 2600rpm and smacking it around.

*** Update ***

The Turnigy 4000mAh 40-50C lipos do fit with the battery fence installed. They are snug, but they fit.
