Default Pantera 50 / BeastX / Maiden today.......

Well, today is the day. This afternoon I will fly the P50 for the first time with the uB.
Went through the setup earlier this week several times just to get comfortable with it, and got the mounting finalized yesterday before work.

Got home yesterday evening and decided to do a test hop in the back yard at dusk with the fuel that was left in the tank from my previous outing.

WhooHoo! Uneventful and predictable. I did 5 take offs, some cyclic stabs fore/aft and left/right, and set her down by hitting TH.

Nice. Really looking forward to getting this thing in the air today and letting her stretch her legs

Can't believe how easy this thing is to set up. Wow, the "writers-0-de-firmware" did an excellent job!

Until this evening,

Dale

Well I must say, I am amazed. Bone stock settings, left it in Sport mode and it still performs great. Tail is far better than my 401, and the entire heli is like it is on rails.

I must confess that I almost junked it on my first slow roll across the field. On the inverted part of the roll, there was a large altitude change and it finished tail low.
I gained some altitude and tried some backflips. While they were solid, I was loosing a LOT of hs on the bottom half of the flip

Landed and checked all my throttle mixes - good, throttle curves - good WTF?

Put her in the air again and did some more flips. Consistent loss of hs while inverted. Finished that tank off and back to the bench to check pitch.....

Apparently my pitch gauge slipped between setting up positive and negative. I had the +11 I was shooting for, but my negative was in excess of -15 Duhhhhh

Fixed that and back in the air we go. Now a single roll that spans the field is like it is on a wire. Flips, both aileron and elevator - pretty much as long as you want to do them

Glad I made the move to the uBeast!
Another satisfied customer,

Dale
